LEA to Assist Cleveland Utilities with their Infiltration and Inflow Reduction Program Development
LEA also assisted the client with developing formats and procedures for capturing future field inspection activities in electronic format so that they may be integrated back into the client’s geographic information system (GIS) utilizing Microsoft Access and Environmental Systems Research Institute’s (ESRI) ArcGIS software product.
Additional services performed by LEA were identifying possible pump station operation issues and performing pump draw down tests and operational checks to validate the actual operating conditions of the station. From these observations and analysis, LEA was able to assist Staff in identifying a problematic check valve that was allowing flow to recirculate into the wet well. The subsequent fix of this valve resulted in the increase of the pumping capacity of the pump at this station from approximately 800 gallons per minute to over 1,300 gallons per minute.
